Fleet Safety Benchmarking Project
Driving at work is one of the most dangerous activities an employee undertakes. It is also one of the biggest costs to business. Fuel costs and vehicle repairs eat into business profits and those employers who manage it well have been shown to save significant costs, dramatically improving their profitability.
To reduce your road risks, you need to start with a clear understanding of the status of your existing Fleet Safety programme.
Benchmarking can be a highly effective way of improving road safety in your organisation. Knowing what you are doing well helps maintain momentum but, equally important, knowing what you can do better drives improvement. Identifying good practices from comparisons with others is enormously valuable and encourages innovative solutions. Benchmarking also assists with compliance against legal requirements and standards such as ISO39001.
The Fleet Safety Benchmarking Tool at www.fleetsafetybenchmarking.net will show you where your organisation sits in relation to others. It consists of a 30 Question Gap Analysis that will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Once you've completed the process you will automatically receive a personalised report with feedback on your results.
This freely available and longstanding benchmarking tool (used by over 1,400 organisations to date) has been fully revised and updated in collaboration with the Occupational Road Safety Alliance (ORSA).
